FWIW.. why are you shifting the intercooler back ?

2.5 inch pipes won't clear the bonnet without cutting holes in the bonnet if it's mounted further forward.

Feck it. . . Did some more today. Need to drop the intercooler one more inch and we're golden. It all clears the bonnet when closed but I want the pipes to align to the charger and inlet manifold a little better. Recharged the battery on the Range Rover today and the gearbox issue seems to have spontaneously disappeared? So no bus for me. . . for now.

Installed an IAT sensor boss on the output leg of the intercooler. I don't own any taps so had to get creative. I had a screw in hose tap that I originally bought for the purpose but now don't have any run of silcone hose to install it in! So I bonded the threaded lock nut on to the end of the external thread with some liquid metal and then cut it off. This left me with a 4mm thick internally threaded boss. Then I drilled a slightly larger hole than the internal thread of the boss in the wall of the output leg of the intercooler to run the sensor through. . . . . . and bonded the boss to the outside using JB Weld. Nice and neat and places the sensor perfectly when screwed in! In other news - had to be recovered in the the Range Rover last week following total loss of drive. It has now had a battery change (as the old one was fubar'd) but 'drive' is occasional and temporary. It is now booked in to a local Land Rover specialist next week for diagnosis. I expect to be broke again soon!

Neat solution to the IAT install. It's all coming together nicely!

. . . and I'm back in the game. Started up, warmed up and settled to a nice steady idle. Went for a spin. OH MY LIFE! What a difference! I confess I haven't even installed the yellow injectors yet because I was in desperate need of getting the car back on the road (My wife and kids have had to run me back and forwards to the station every day as my Rangie is yet to be fixed). But wow, so much smoother and quicker with the intercooler and the 150mm crank overlay. I was laughing maniacly like a Bond villain! I'm seriously happy. Had a little issue with the coolant boiling but that was down to an airlock and soon sorted. Can't wait to get back out in it!

Radiator cap was off because I was bleeding air after refilling the coolant.

Rangie is finally back after being fixed. Man, I missed that car. Had to have the gearbox completely rebuilt and a repair to the transfer box - £2400. Ouch. The guys at STA Auto transmission specialist Aylesbury run a tight operation though and the cleanest workshop I've ever seen!
I've now started yet another mod to Ronins dashboard!

Yeah - going to have to sort out a more permanent method of attachment.
Might get the spanners out this evening and bung the RX8 injectors in whilst I work out a way to do that.

Dash still in pieces but I've decided to fit the RX-8 injectors today as I have been procrastinating about it for ages.
I need to do something to get me away from t'internet. I've been obsessively searching for an Alfa Romeo V6 (75 or GTV Cup)!
