Blow off valve, 
Dump valve,
Wastegate, 
whatever the correct terminology i still cant help but chuckle, anyway, just bought a rather nice Mk1 1.6 Turbo with said valve and to be honest the chattering of the "valve" is gonna do my nut in. Even the "chirp" on most turbo's that ive heard would be more acceptable. Question is why do i have a "chattering" and is there a way to eliminate it. I understand that waste has to go somewhere but my old turbo didnt suffer from such bad flatulence. Would that be because it had a recirc pipe diverting the waste back into the inlet manifold and if so would this be a relatively easy conversion to do on the new one?
easy question for some of you, and although i know the fundamentals for turbocharging i am now grey of hair so be gentle with me and keep it simple
