What is the correct thread size?
I like the one pictured above, but not the round ones.

Thanks, unfortunately nobody does one in that size, so I will have to get the 1.5 and put a tap down it as others have done.

I think something with a bit more weight will make the shift feel a bit better. Like a lump of metal. But that's just me...

In a warmer classier world I'd love a solid brass ball. That would be just perfect.

I love the Voodoo round knobs. Have one in my MK3. Nicely weighted and shorten the throw over the standard knob.
In th emK1 I have a nylon knob with tape on it to make it fit.

How can this improve the gear change?

How can this improve the gear change? brass has a warm feel and the heavier the knob, the more mass, the less small vibration ("notchy feeling") you get in the motion. TBH I think the standard mk1 knob is perfectly weighted already IMO but some of us have bigger hands (and other things) and so we like a bigger knob.

It's what you do with it that counts I have a Joyfast (the middle one here: rev9autosport.com/joyfast-original-shift-knob.html ) which is I think a perfect weight, and not too chunky. But it's all about what feels right for you

It's gonna cost me £50 to see if that's true or not.
