But here's a really interesting article on a mathematical analysis of the best F1 drivers of all time where they've attempted to take out the effect of the cars. Its a super long article but an interesting read ...

Lost interest in F1 the last few years, however that made a good tea break read though.
The list of absent and "unsung heroes" were the most surprising, I also hadn't realised how much Dan Gurney had done outside F1 (with the exception of the Gurney flap).
