I only got 83%, both my friends got 84%, didn't hear the end of it. The civic is a different thing altogether, already booked it's first track day at Bedford next month. Never driven a fwd on track so will be interesting.
Going up with another type r and a turbo mx5 so should be a good bit of battling.

At the school day I was in a n/a mx5(sold and replaced with a type r), one friend was in a 300bhp mx5(sold and replaced with a type r) and my other friend was in an Impreza(since crashed and replaced with an audi S6 v10).
Think I'll do another school day next year, you get plenty of runs for your money when you think about it.

With the tea and biccys and the lunch, the training etc it makes a track (circuit) day look expensive, on the basis that you dont spend all day on the circuit anyway, also you have actual goals to work on and improve, its easy to just go round and round a circuit without actually trying to focus on specific improvement areas, just thinking "got to stay ahead or catch!". On your own on the hill everyone is watching you but there are no other cars to worry about and even an old git like me can concentrate for 45 secs!!! I also love the mix of cars/people/abilities.

Hill climbing is quite a buzz, can't honestly say if I like it or not though, I struggle to go balls out for fear of impact, I'm always holding back and so I always come away thinking that I have let the car down by being a bit of a pussy.... I feel safer on a circuit, I've only done a handful of hills. I suppose I shouldn't watch so many of the crash videos on YouTube before an event

Blimey, did you not just buy a 1.6? there's quite a few SC mx5s hitting the circuits next year, I'm going to have my work cut out.

The 1.6 turned out to be a complete basket case..... Still, live & learn..
Bought the silver MK2.5 with green wheels that was for sale on Nutz. It's only about 190hp but I recon that'll be a good balance on list 1A tyres.

Should go well, more power and less weight than mine with a nutjob behind the wheel I must get on the case with the mods for next season.

Just booked for another one in April, let's see if I can better my score Hi Driftmonkey, sounds like you are at the stage when you're ready to get involved in a light hearted competition. There's a few on here that do various ones, I do Classic Marques which is very relaxed mod-wise being a power to weight formula.

I'll be trying my luck with about 180bhp in a mk1 after ditching the supercharger and going ITBs. Got fed up of being the least powerful car in class with the SC.

I did look at the page for that but couldn't work out if my car is eligible, 2002 civic. Just need to apply for my MSA licence now, got all my personal safety gear and club membership sorted and need to buy the stickers and tape for the car and I'm ready to enter some events at gurston.
