Hi all, I'm back again and have finally made the long awaited switch from MK2s to a MK1.Sounds silly but they're so different, there is such a rawness in the NA anybody I'm not mistaken even the diff is pretty brutal compared to the type 2.She's a little 1600 import which came over in 2004 but was off the road (stored) for a couple of years. Paint isn't the best but she is solid and most importantly has all the right things added already. Painstakingly trying to clear 25 years of built on grime from the engine bay and generally tidy her up.A couple of pictures for your pleasure (yes it's another red one)

Looks lovely! Are you missing your radiator expansion tank cap though?

Not much of an update. Generally just been tidying and rectifying little niggles. Swapped the flat bottomed momo for a Nardi. Changed the old gaitors for some matching red and black ones. Polish polish polish. Had her remapped at EFI parts. Chris was fantastic and if highly recommend him to others. We made a healthy 211hp and 212tq at a Max 13.9PSI which was the limit for the tiny turbo.

Took the crap off using a soft brass wire brush (spark plug brush) then a quick buff with some autosol. Driving home last night I lost all boost under load, Knew straight away a pipe had popped off. No other issues so drove it home and put her away. Went out this morning to investigate and fount one of the clips had failed. I've had several turbo cars and normally run mikalor clips so was quite surprised to find this snapped. For me this was a chance to remove, clean and slightly rejig the intercooler pipework. Easier to throw this into a silly grid photo. Also grabbed a Dr MX5 gear gaiter kit. Doesn't need replacing but for £25 I may as well.

I will be yes. No point in replacing the parts and not the oil.
