So I've read bits and pieces on t'internet about modding the AFM (clockspring) as a slightly crude but effective may of gaining a few horses on the 1.6. Trouble is I've seen things that suggest leaning the mix and some about richening it. Car has a full stainless exhaust, manifold through to back and now a K&N cone so breathing should be decent if that makes any difference.
Our car is used exclusively for track use and rarely see much below 4k revs thus any advice for this specific circumstance would be appreciated, links to other threads also handy.

Where you based Dan? Seen skuzzle do this on a few cars on his RR to good effect. I wouldn't want to try it without.

It tricks the ecu to under or over fuel relative to the calibration from factory for the air it's metering. Sounds a touch crude but if it works it works.
A couple of tuners seem to offer more advanced tweaks that do more than a linear more/less fuel with some componentry jiggery-pokery. For a road car this might be the best way forward. I was hoping for a track day warrior '2 clicks richer' or something was the future.

I did this to my 1.6 (exactly like you say, just tightened the spring a click or two) But I wasn't confident in it so took it to Skuzzle to do properly! As has been said - need to do it with AFR meter really

Blink are over Manchester way, they can do it, I believe, bit closer for ya, if you don't fancy the monster trip down to Skuzzle.
