Not really a surprise that a 4WD, motor-on-each-wheel, 370kg single seater is quicker to 62mph than a Porsche 918 lol

The advantage of full torque at any RPM. It is amazingly quick though, if you actually measure it out in your head and imagine being in a vehicle.

The amount of funding European Unis get for Formula Student compared to us is just unfair.

I can see conversions like this taking place into normal cars in the future. In fact rather like a down to earth version of "Back To The Future 2" - classic cars given a new lease of life. No not flying! But super fast electric conversions. How about Tesla Ludicrous mode in a mk1 5? It would be untouchable by anything with wheels.

That would be a damn fun drive! I would miss the legendary Mk1 gearshift though

STOP PRESS, 150kg seat on wheels is a little under a second quicker to 63mph than a car with an inside and radio and seats and crash protection and a fuel tank and range and gears and road legal and made in (comparatively) large numbers. We are all surprised, you should all be surprised, and amazed, much wow.
Notwithstanding the implied surprise that something light and 4wd and torquey is fast, it is cool.
