Ordered some new tyres (Uniroyal RainExpert 3), to be fitted next weekend. Also got new gearshift boots coming, and rear brake sliders, hopefully get all that done next week.

I've given the car another good clean this morning (one drive out on dirty winter roads covered it in cr@p) and also noticed where the ARC Chamber is now fitted, it's rubbing on the underside of the bonnet - i'd already put a small white pad on the underside on the left, but now have done so on the right as well as it's started making a mark there too. As it's the lower bonnet frame that's rubbing, i've been giving that some gentle persuasion to push it in a bit so now has a bit more clearance and padding!

Dropped the head off for a check over and fitting of OEM valve stem seals (also read as bloody expensive little rubber thingies!).

Haha, yeah, I had two of the Spikey Canoes shear but not a bad statistic considering. I found removing the bumper stabilisers and the top bumper bolts just allowed enough room to get a small 10mm spanner in the gap (just wrapped it in paint tape to avoid scratching things), still a git to get to though.

the captive-bolts that secure the bumper / innerwing / wing are a pain, all the ones I've combated have caused swearing luckily they are available new so if replacing a rusted wing I just cut an access hole (in the wing) then have good access www.mx5parts.co.uk/front-bumper-side-mounting-bracket-mk1-p-993.htmland I used to moan about Talbot Sunbeam * Vauxhall Chevette front wing bolts Rich.

Yep it was one of those that went, cheers for the link! The other one was the first of the top bolts mounting to the engine bay, the one next to the headlight/and coolant expansion tank so that Spikey Canoe is going to be annoying as I'll have to remove the expansion tank to get a bolt/nut on under it whenever the wing needs to come off. Maybe I'll write in pink pen under the wing to warn any future trip to the body shop as that would be a headscratcher for a painter lol.

The thread brokeaway from from captive nut underneath (I presume thats whats under there), not sure if they are threaded originally, I'll have a look at the others later if not probably have to be a rivnut, I don't have a gun for that. More money in non parts
