This has all gone horribly off topic. But it was terrific fun. I did get it working well, eventually. I was only 15 when I began driving it 😱 Things where different back then. That young lady, my then squeeze, has gone on to be quite let’s say, well known. Ahhh, happy days. She doesn't look desperately impressed!

Fitting new upper and lower front control arms, what a fun job.... I have the upper off on one side, ball joints seperated from knuckle inc tie rod, tie rod end off. Now in regards to the lower, front cam bolt was so feking tight it snapped... no problem as I have a complete front bolt set from maruhamotors/bofi to go on. However the rear one is proper annoying, I have it undone, nut off and everything put a ring spanner over and started pulling it out but it got maybe 1cm as the cam plate on the nut side is not coming off the bolt so the bolt wont come out!!!! I'd rather it have snapped, its such a tight spot near the chassis rail so diffcult to work with, I guess now I have to piss off the neighbors and get the angle grinder out unless anyone has any better ideas??

The location means you can't really get a lump hammer on it, I mean not without bashing your chassis rail in the process. I tired getting a centre punch on it and hitting that but you can't it straight. What an absolute bastard, neighbors learnt some new fancy swear words yesterday I think 👀

tightened the alternator belt, so much nicer to not have the squealing noise when first starting in the morning. would also make a low rumble going to a high pitch when I turned the lights on. all silent now
not just today but have started talks about buying a barn ... 8.5m high, 8m wide, 6m deep, stone wall, dirt floor, no electricity ... and only a small pedestrian door

Hi Folks, I have just swapped the Eunos throttle cable for a longer one which is the left hand drive version. It has got rid of the tight bend onto the BBR ITB mount. The old cable was easy to get out with a bit of insulation trimming at the cable exit and then sliding a deep 17 mm Hex socket over it to squeeze the mount lugs I used the pedal and a wedge to hold it tight to the bulkhead then went into the engine bay and gave it a tug ! It came straight out !! The longer cable took a bit of threading around things and it just rubs the bonnet due to the angle of the mount on the ITBs. A bit of foam tape on the underside of the bonnet will sort that out.
Rolling Road mapping session tommorow afternoon.
Cheers Dickie.
