That foam pad thing in the centre of that last one seems designed to be as unattractive as possible lol I'll have to get a decent photo of mine - it looks different to the Porsche ones!

I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on a black Prototipo with a more plain black momo horn button.

You can get an NRG slim boss and then the QR will bring it out to about standard if you don't want it too close. I'll see if my friend still has my old QR boss, was perfect.
Edit: he's going to have a look tonight/tomorrow if you're interested, it's a Snap-On from the US I think? Nice quality and all in one boss/QR.

the NRG slim QR with the MK5702 boss is exactly what I'm running and it is perfectly spaced for the wiper/indicator stalks.
I'll go take a photo of it.... one moment please.
I think if you want the D1 spec QR you will want a shorter boss than the MK5702 one.

Right, some shots.. NRG slim QR with the momo MK5702 crush-type boss and a momo race steering wheel. The momo RACE wheel isn't flat - it is curved slightly towards the driver.. but I can still reach the stalks while in contact with the wheel, even with the slim QR. You can see what the setup looks like from above. The MK5702 is a 'standard' boss so not made to be used with a QR per se, so you want a slim QR. or a slim boss if you have a fat QR. ( I have another car (the blue one) with the same boss and a momo prototipo but no QR and I actually use a spacer there (15mm or so) because otherwise my hands are *too close* to the stalks. - the prototipo is flat remmember. ) This momo race wheel was on the car when I bought it ... although I feel in my heart I will get a prototipo for it one day..

Thanks for going to all that effort Atlex, you star! So I am assuming that NRG unit is well made and not sloppy at all? If you rate it as much as many seem t o rate the D1 I'll just copy your setup... ps Now I want your stalks. Dammit. I'll have to stop noticing lovely items on here.

the hub and the qr will go fine together - that seller is the UK dealer for NRG. all the momo horns are the same size (er, no they're not.. see below), the main difference is where the ground is. you could just reuse your existing button if you have a momo horn. generally I've had best luck with single contact momo horn buttons, where you only wire up the live and the ground is done via a contact to the hub (out the side of the horn button) also.. do you really need a new boss ? isn't your existing wheel a momo one ? if you have a std. momo wheel with the yellow button, that is a single contact setup.

Thanks again!
I'll order a load of bits shortly based on your suggestions and my links above.
I just don't want a bright yellow horn button in my OEM-ish car interior. So I'd like to swap out the Prototipo yellow one for a black one.
I currently have a Nardi wheel which I'll be selling on.

All ordered. I'm now three hundred quid lighter. Ouchie. Still, what the hell. Should be another improvement Hopefully I'll get a hundred back for some other bits I'll sell.
