Looks super clean! I'm considering going for the cowl intake, worth doing? Details on bits needed? Completely DIY Scotty, it's not really a cowl intake as in the Randall, it's just the intake hose fed through into the wiper plenum. I wanted to get rid of the headlight cover I made by cutting NACA duct in it - I never really liked it but the Eunos responds well to having a cold air intake, so to keep it I shoved through the plenum wall Photos will explain it better: This is how I had it originally, sucking in cooler air from behind the N/S headlight cover As I say, I wasn't keen on the look of the duct - it looked a bit too boy racer for my liking so I set about moving it to the back of the engine bay to pick up cool air from in front of the windscreen, which aerodynamically is supposed to be an area of high pressure anyway. First off was to get this moved out of the way Then fit one of these The next bit took a bit of soul searching because my plan when I bought the RS was to do nothing to the fabric of it that wasn't reversible, but I plan on doing a few tuning mods in the future so I decided to cut a hole in the plenum membrane. and then make & fit a collar which would hold the hose in situ The air con pipe was in the way a bit so I had to put spacers behind the brackets to bring it forward a bit. I plan on taking the air con out at some point so wasn't really bothered about that. Job finto, I got rid of the naffy headlight cover and still get my nice cold air into the engine. Could have been a problem if the car had got ABS though

Thanks for the information, had considered trying your first iteration with the headlight cover as I've already got one to fit, was it any use? I think when funds allow I'll buy the davefab washer relocation and do the randall intake. Looks super clean! I'm considering going for the cowl intake, worth doing? Details on bits needed?

I think when funds allow I'll buy the davefab washer relocation and do the randall intake. I think it does make a bit of difference getting it to suck in cooler air, the engine feels a little crisper. I wasn't keen on the amount of hose when it was going to the headlight, so now I get my std headlight cover back and I get a shorter hose as well

I thought I'd already posted this but I can't find it so maybe I dreamt it - I'm old and I forget things Since Photobucket went alien on us most of the forum photos in t'interweb forumdom have disappeared. I can't bring back all the photos but the ones of the RS can be found here: www.dewisant-photography.net/y_ogb_MX5_Page4a.htm

I was hoping to fit a sticky plate whilst retaining the front badge. After seeing how nice yours looks I think I'll give it a bash..

I was hoping to fit a sticky plate whilst retaining the front badge. After seeing how nice yours looks I think I'll give it a bash.. Some stick on plates are a nightmare to fix on without getting wrinkles in them, despite using heat to get them to stretch over the curves they still got wrinkles in the few different e.bay ones I bought. I ended up at a proper online place where they make really good ones - they were a bit more expensive but well worth it and they even even put the little printy bits on that make them legal. I'm off to a funeral right now but when I get back I'll dig out the details of where i got it from and post it up

Had me a new screen fitted to the RS this week, the importer promised me he'd do this when I bought the car because it had a bloody great chip in the glass on the passenger side. The agreement was that he'd take the screen out when he painted the car but he never did, so the thing has annoyed me ever since. Anyway, it got to the point where the chip started to become an ever expanding crack so before it got to mega proportions something had to be done. Great local paint shop - and MX5 enthusiast (ex owner) - did it for me and he re-painted the screen frame for me as well. Because the screen was never removed for the respray - only masked off - taking out the screen rubber dragged some paint off the frame so it required a respray. I'm actually thinking of having him respray the whole car because the original paint job was so bad and the paint is so soft it scratches and marks really easily. Maybe next year - he did Flood's S special, a member here, recently and it looks brilliant. Chuffed to bits with this. Didn't break the bank either
