Hi! I got my 5 about a year ago, totally standard BRG v-spec, all in very good condition (except horribly flat paint!) and rot free! I slowly did a few bits and pieces as I drove it around daily for a while, the list was as follows: HSD monopros e30 BBS RZs 15x7 Federal RS-R 195/45/15 GCFab Roll bar Personal Neo Grinta wheel MX-5 Parts Stainless exhaust A corbeau seat I had laying around went in as well. At that point it looked like so: Then I got a little carried away on eBay one night and purchased a td04l, which has led me on a downward financial spiral to where I am today! This is where I am currently: A few pictures from the past few weeks of me building it: Turbo mounted: Sump drilling: AC removal: IC mounting: IC mount bracket I made up: Couple of CAD bits I am awaiting 3D printing at the girlfriends house! Mock up of one of the above bits in mild steel: Fitted a ducktail: I think thats it as far as a brief overview goes! Currently it runs, awaiting funds for a wideband and EBC, ordered a 1 piece stainless downpipe with flexi and decat from Black cat fab. Just a few niggley bits to sort then and it can go for MOT and the fun can begin!

I feel like Nick shoulda called this place "BRG owners Anonymous"!
You gonna go ME221 for management or did i gloss over you mentioning something else?

When i was looking at buying it I really didn't think I would end up with a BRG one! You didn't miss it, I completely forgot to mention it; it's running me221 pretty impressive (although I haven't actually used megasquirt so potentially not a fair comment) fired straight up and seems to run well, we will find out when I drive it to the MOT station! Ha ha I was about to post this place is turning into an NA BRG fest. Clearly its an appealing colour to great minds..

Nice! I've previously played around a fair bit with MS2 althoguht it was a cheap clone that had many gremlins; but it was clear how powerful the system is.
But from what i've heard and researched, the ME221 really does seem to be leaps and bounds ahead. My current ballpark plan is to get an ME221 as soon as funds allow, as lord knows it's the most important base item needed for anything going forward!
Strong idle and cold start then?

I've been really impressed with the start on it, from stone cold its pretty on the button, maybe a couple of cranks at the very most. I can't really comment on idle yet, currently still running the OE narrowband which I hear gives a better idle than the wideband I will have/assume most people end up running. Currently Idle is good though

Teeny update. Today I quickly made up a master cylinder stopper off the strut brace.

Love the look of this car. Where is that ducktail from? Thank-you. The ducktail was an eBay special for about £60. I waited a pretty long time for it to come up, but they do every now and again! Fits like a £60 part though - bloody terrible haha!

More teeny tiny updates due to not being paid I am having to just mess about with bits and bobs :censor: Ultra annoying as I am off work this week and with a little money the car could be nigh on road worthy! Anyway, decided there was too much flex in my brake master booster so having painted it... I ground it back and beefed it up a bit. Ta-Da! Having fitted the ducktail the car looked horrendously unbalanced, always has really in my eyes! I want to get the OE splitter at some point but that £70 is far better spent elsewhere at the moment so I carved this up out of an old mk.2 golf splitter since I had one laying around. Not really keen on the look of it, and it had to be trimmed down to to the mk.2 being significantly squarer fronted... Anyway it does what it needs to for the time being. As you can probably tell, I am bored- Time off work without money is no fun at all!

Another little update today, having been snowed under with the new job and consuming a little too much alcohol last night I managed to get on the car this afternoon with a solid day planned tomorrow. I got some steel in the post the other day to solid mount my seat and get myself sat lower. All bent up and ready, gets me about 2 inches lower. In place and then drilled for the sidemounts I also ripped out the cubby and the radio, got a new center console tombstone surround and cut some black perspex to fill the gap and mount my switches and gauges. I ordered a little amp and a bluetooth adapter for the AUX output so I can still listen to some music if I ever go on a long journey. I will tuck it all up behind the dash. And tonight I can sit and make race car noises in my seat with my steering wheel snapped off.

Bit more update wise! Did get the seat in in the end, no pictures but oh my gosh it feels so so much better! Did require a little surgery on the seat itself to get it sat right. I have tonight made up the blank for my centre console, cut out the window switches, and gauges like so: (for some reason photobucket is refusing to rotate it!) And I also got a lovely package from Blackcat fab containing the following: So thats Sunday sorted, got to take a friend to pick up a tiger kit car on saturday, so no time for my own car!
