I had a throttle body set up on my westfield. Made a lovely noise and the throttle response with a few other lightened goodies was like nothing else Ive ever driven. My turbo'd Mazda makes more power, but I still miss that response.
I did have some fun trying to get my throttle bodies to fit with enough length and accommodate an air filter. Jenvey have some curved trumpets and angled spacers that might give you some inspiration if you're still evolving your set up.

Progress was made today. A few drinks last night meant the day started feeling a little like this: However a parcel arrived with a little motivation in it: Inside: First things first though I had to clean the daily and take photos for the potential sale I machined up a blank for the stat housing since I'm going for the coolant reroute: Perfect: Rebuilt the head with cams: And then started putting everything else together, most of it has to come back off but it was nice to see everything coming together:

what spec are the cams? Rich. Kent specsNot a million miles from the fast road profile everyone seems to use from piper, couple of extra degrees on the exhaust. I've always heard really good things about Kent cams and had brilliant service this time so would recommend!

I did, I'm not sure if this is a normal option as it's not listed on their site other than as the specs above which I found searching the part number. I am lucky enough to have a father with friends in the right places (i.e at kent) I know skuzzle work with kent to supply cams though so (having not yet actually started the car) if it's not an off the shelf from kent I would highly reccommend that as an option!

Always good to be connected! I have seen Bofi Racih offer them too, plus some Cat Cams, which is good to see

Little more progress: Sorted the coolant reroute out, lack of space below due to the TBs meant it came over the top.. I've also got the cambelt etc. back on and a couple of other bits. I started to contemplate the idea of an angled trumpet, this would allow a plate and a decent filter to be fitted. Not too sure what the curve does to the characteristics of the torque curve etc. And I was building a mock up loom for something else, but this is essentially the idea for the engine loom that's to be the next project.

re-route over top is a good idea if you put a 'bleed' pipe or screw to remove air looks good though... Rich.

Engine loom is a good shout. It's the messiest bit of my Westfield and I find it very annoying.

Not too sure what the curve does to the characteristics of the torque curve etc. Jenvey angle their manifolds to give clearance, presume this would act similar to angled rampipes / trumpets as theres an angle-change in the airflow? obviously thats part of my hoarding (collection) and may oneday get used Rich.

shouldn't make too much difference, some 20v 4ages had curved stacks in the oem airbox.

Engine loom is a good shout. It's the messiest bit of my Westfield and I find it very annoying. Yeah! Standard looms are always a bit messy, very functional though. I imagine some good weight savings to be had rewiring and stripping out all the unused crap. re-route over top is a good idea if you put a 'bleed' pipe or screw to remove air looks good though... Rich. T piece on order for this purpose now, I hadn't originally planned coming over the top. Just need to turn up a nice bung now. First mock up of the angle trumpets should be off the printer today, if all is well I'll print 4 more over the weekend. I always wanted to angle the manifold so the TBs would be tilted but the standard mazda manifold hacked doesn't lend itself to this, and machining angled flanges was a lot more effort..

Actually cranked the car over today on the key, coolant is pretty much the last thing to sort tomorrow with the arrival of my tee piece for bleeding. Then it's just setting the timing and sorting TPS values in me221 and it should run!
I do still have some tidying to do, door bars to fit and a decat to weld up before it's back on the road.
