Hi All
Thought I’d better do one of these threads to keep track of progress/mods on the Mk2.5 MX5 that I share with my brother.
Bought it about 17 months ago having already been subtlety modded by the previous owner.
The car is a 2002 MX5 ‘Arizona’ model with 5 Speed & Torsen diff.
Sparco Sprint seats. TR Lane Rollbar+Homemade harness bar+Firewall Mod TRS Harnesses Hardtop ME221 Eaton M45 Supercharger+Intercooler Fast5 Radiator Oil Cooler HSD Monopro Coilovers Carbon Lorraine Brake Pads 15x7 Rota Grids & Rainsport3s 15x7 SP1.2s with AD08Rs Front splitter & Rear Ducktail. Oil catch can
Goes nicely & has been quite successful.

Agreed. Although I’ve been really bad at keeping my build threads up to date of late. Stones, glass houses etc.

I should do one also, the number of PMs I get about what I've done to make my car work on Nutz is riduclous, in fact I could paste all my response to PMs and that would probably be build thread done LOL

Splitter looks good. What is next on the todo list? Got a 949/Supermiata coolant reroute arriving Thursday. Hopefully get it fitted over the bank holiday weekend.

Also raise the ride height 15mm as it is a bit too low.

So, a quick review of the test day last Sunday at Gurston:
I arrived with too much fuel in the tank (1/2) so was carrying roughly 10kg too much but it was a practice day so no big disaster. Scruteneering went well with no issues & was able to help out a couple of guys get thru theirs. Was trialing my new HANS & to be honest it was nowhere near as uncomfortable as people say.
So down to the runs- as per normal all my starts were rubbish. I just cannot get it right & it’s so frustrating!!! I had it cracked in the TVR & Mk1 but have yet to master the technique in the SC Mk2.5. The start at Gurston is crucial to getting decent speed through the 1st speed trap & getting the car set up for the long fast left to karusel. Thanks to watching apextwins video, I was able to carry a lot more speed by late changing down for the 2nd apex. Through the twisty bits the new suspension worked well with the rain sports, proved on the time sheet beating some quite exotic machinery in the humble MX5 (both apextwin & I were quicker than a 911 GT3 Cup racer thru the bends). Then through the slippery left at ashes followed by a flat out uphill sprint to the line.
Time wise, previously had done a 41.9 in the MK1 so was hoping to improve on that with an extra 45hp & managed to get a 1.7 sec improvement.

Ah yes, the "how much do i put in the tank on the way there" conundrum! Good to hear the karusel technique is working for you... you'd think it would feel rushed to snatch 2nd there, but it actually seems to give you more time than attempting to fit it in the 'braking zone'. Sure the time will tumble once the track improves later in the year!

Fitted the Supermiata coolant reroute. Had to do a bit of jiggery-pokery with various pipes & the EGR is a pain in the rear canoe but it’s all done now. Also replaced the heater pipes & did the ride height AGAIN. images.mighty5s.com/gallery/1fskkm9tqk.jpg

So, having a few issues trying to get the bypass kit to seal as per the kit instructions. Going to revert to using gaskets instead of the sealant provided.

Be careful, one of my club mates managed to fry two superchargers due to the bypass, don't recall issues but it was an expensive journey for him.
