Thanks. I am glad I didn't get a Jazz... To be fair, the Jazz is not a bad car. Its fairly economical, fairly comfortable and fairly flexible, but it is woefully underpowered!

I had a day to myself today so thought I'd modify the oil pan baffle.

Final parts check before the the engine goes off to be balanced, then I can start the build. If only I could find the canoeing injectors. That's an epic parts pile :-) must be £2K or so ?

It's taken me 6 years to collect the parts for this build. I wanted to build a bullet proof bottom end so I can upgrade the turbo once I've got the transmission sorted. The wife bought me tickets to Beaulieu Show & Shine in September so i need to get it on the road.

I used it on my last build - definitely helped keep inlet manifold temps down. Absolutely top quality. They're made of a more resilient material to some of the others I wouldn't normally use on on a turbo, but I need to space the manifold out to fit the Mk1 TPS on the throttle body.

My new headlamps arrived today - I think it's fairly safe to say they'll reflect more light than the old ones!

So, after 18 months of delays (removing the end part of my index finger in a treehouse building accident, cellulitis in my leg, redundancy and a tax bill that would make Alan Sugar cry tears the size size of October cabbages) I am ready to plough ahead with work on the car.

Good! Sorry about your fingertip and hope that the infection left you without much hassle.
