My car is going to be 30 this year, and I'm sad enough to want to throw it a party. There will be jelly and icecream, cheese and pineapple on sticks, a piñata and if you all want to attend then its strict fancy dress.
But I don't know the date. As an import I can only get the UK registration date from a HPI.
Anyone know where I'd find the build date? G198WNJ

Mazda vin codes are sorta easily decoded, a 'JMZ***' vin-code can be interpreted with many pdf or online decoders and have a reasonable birthdate iirc, online vin decoders do not work for Eunos cars so anything with a vin starting NA6 or NA8 will leave you at the mercy of Mazda if they want to look up the databases or old records obviously, bribing Mazda is the best option for a build-data printout with full options & date but I'm unsure if they do this Rich.

flood that's awesome and gives a very 'accurate' number. they give a load of other info too, must be a fairly good database they have. My blue car was born 05 October 1989 :-)

strange.
You selecting mazda from pull down and putting vin in format na8c-xxxxxx where the x's are the 6 vin digits?
It works for both my 5's and have identified over 200 RS-ltd numbers so far

try go up and down 50 cars or so to get an approximate. I have a feeling the VIN db is for japanese-local-market cars but I can't confirm that - people who've had it fail, were your cars initially UK regged ?

I have a feeling the VIN db is for japanese-local-market cars but I can't confirm that - people who've had it fail, were your cars initially UK regged ? that makes sense. When looking at RS-ltd's i found that for 10 RS's they would be spread across 25-30 incrementing Vin numbers with no obvious pattern. Would indicate cars for other markets were being built at same time, but maybe not recorded for JDM on that website

Found it!
My V5 and a HPI search shows the chassis as NAGCE, but changing it to NA6CE and it comes up straight away.
Birthday celebrations booked for the 10th September, jelly and icecream all round!!!!!
Thanks all!
