Er, something has gone wrong!
Been driving Ronin for weeks now with no issues other than sluggish starting.
Went to start him this morning and although he's turning over he won't fire. Not even a cough. Every 20 - 30 secs of turning the engine over results in a MASSIVE backfire.
Haven't change any settings. Can't figure out what's wrong. Fully charged battery but it didn't make a jot of difference.
Now carless, as my GTV has a punctured tyre and the Range Rovers windscreen wipers are broken.

trouble with ignition is my guess, and then when it catches all that petrol down your exhaust ignites!

Thinking coilpack failure.

could be moisture - you tried taking it inside and putting it next to a heater, or hair drier ?

Start small - check plugs for spark.
Is this the coldest the car has started in?

Finally got Ronin started again today and went for a drive.
Only thing is . . . I've just got my Alfa back from a thorough overhaul at L&M Italian car specialists at Marlow and went out for a MUCH longer drive in that.

Alfa now playing up lol. Keeps flattening it's battery and I'm struggling to establish why.
Ronin has now had a bit of road autotuning and I've fiddled with some of the settings and he's now running better than he has for quite a while. Back to being my daily for now.
Paintwork now requires attention!
Hoping to get GTRoadster.net live in the next week as well. Needed a project and forgot I had half built the website!

Ok. Alfa got fixed a while ago (Battery was knackered despite being less than 12 months old).
Ronins clutch slave is knackered. I have a replacement to fit.
More importantly though, I put a deposit on another car to add to the fleet today. Something that will keep the Alfa company in the garage most of the time and Ronin will remain as the daily beater. . .
š So excited! I've wanted one for 20+ years . . .

Only just found this thread... and glad I did - great 5!
Ive had pics of your dash saved on my pc off of google for ages as ive been considering a cut dash, and since finding this ice found your build thread on walnuts and nicking those dash pics too. I hadn't decided whether to use a 2nd glovebox lid to fill the gap or make a panel, so it answered a few questions. Nice!
Don't worry though, not copying your idea... just want the cut for my idea.

Still waiting for the foglamps for my bumper mod to turn up!? (For Ronin not the 968).

So I botched the clutch slave cylinder replacement by rounding off the nut on the master to slave pipe (Couldnt find the right spanner. Should have been patient and waited until I did. . . )
New pipe being delivered today but i can't be rear canoed with something so fiddly in the cold with the car out in the open atm.
I've diverted my attention to planning the build of a new, bigger, better equipped garage instead. Two post lift included.
