your car must be very low. pics pls. Not necessarily, to get a trolley jack under mine, I need to use wood or a scissor jack to raise it, and mine's at a functional height.

I didn't touch my 5 today but I did set up a little road trip for it down to see the guys at Skuzzle for some rolling road time

I'll have to get a side-on pic off my phone to show my ride height - I'll try and do it tomorrow as hopefully the office will be quiet!

Right, side-on pic of my ride height - I didn't think it was that low but the trolley jack seems to think otherwise... Given how it crashes into potholes etc, and is a struggle to drive smoothly on bumpy country lanes (it slows me down!) I think I am definitely going to go with the Mk2 shocks/springs/top mounts transplant... It's just new wishbones etc that are £££ EDIT: The paint looks canoeing amazing in that picture but it's a proper state in real life EDIT AGAIN: I don't think I need to worry too much about not having door bars, given that my head is the first thing a 4x4 bumper would hit if it drove into me...

doesn't look so low the scissor jack wouldn't get you started ^^ Seconded. I have always had to use scissor to get a normal jack under it (not a particularly low profile jack to be honest). I have built some little wooden platforms to drive it up on in the garage to make life easier.

Recently been made unemployed. So to stop myself going crazy I'm trying to keep busy by doing cheap/free things to pass the time that I'm not looking for jobs. So sprayed my exhaust manifold heat shield red. And set up a little spray booth to refurb some wheels

I have built some little wooden platforms to drive it up on in the garage to make life easier. I just hate jacking things up because I'm always worried the 'cup' on the trolley jack will fold the sills over - I need to get a bit of wood made up that spreads the load along the sill while also locating securely on the jack cup... I think I'll just ignore the heatshield rattle for now and look at it when I take it in to get a new exhaust fitted! Am just waiting for GoPerform to post up a video of their new NA exhaust, so I can check if it is as non-chavvy (non-raspy) as they say it will be - I'm still tempted by the AKAutomotive 'Race' version but it is over £400, whereas hopefully the GP exhaust will be nearer £300.
