Friend of a friend got a ticket after setting his cruise control to 55mph going over the Dartford Crossing... So I just stick to the limit now. 10%+2 is just an advisory, in theory they could prosecute for speed limit + 0.5mph. The reason they don't is it would be very difficult to prove if people chose to go to court, if you are talking about spot speed check - half of 1 mph is impossible to read on a speedo however average speed check is a different thing - I don't know but assume that's what they have on the Crossing??

Yep it's average. Pretty tight tolerances or the chap has the most accurate speedo!

Rubbed down and painted some side light vents that came in a box with our car. Someones filled the indicator on the drivers side but not the other. Whatever it's filled with is very hard and won't come out and I can't be rear canoed to fill the other side so it's got left as is for now. No need for sidelights or front indicators on track so even if these don't really work that well, no real downside to me.

Paid a man to clean it as I have neither the energy or facilities to do it myself. I feel the shame ... shiny damn car though ...

Drove a long way to some shops.
Drove home in the dark.
Remembered just how appallingly bad standard headlights are when I couldn't see prarrie canoe on the county roads with another car coming in the other direction.
(Need to re-fit my LED headlights!)

Took it to a car wash to remove the flies from the skuzzle trip.
Then took it to my bodyshop dude to show him where he needs to redo my bumper for the 3rd time (he agreed, so I am grateful..)
Then stood around it applying some silicone to the trim while discussing 2.8L capris with a decorator :-)

Refitted my standard ECU - it is now sat on top of the ME221 in its own case (they sit horizontally behind the glove box, where the AC evap once lived!) I can now change from one to the other just by changing the connections over no pulling up the bloody carpet! Why? i hear you ask?? Seems like a good idea and gives me the choice, the standard one starts and idles nicer but doesn't pull as well until about 4k, the ME221 sounds nicer with pops on overrun and has a little bit more low down grunt Actually it is more to do with entering a race class that requires standard ECU.

Drove over to Bracknell to meet some fellow 5'ers. Nearly ran out of fuel on the way home because of two major diversions and a road closure due to an accident.

Replaced the diff after work. Started at 5, finished at 1am.
I Canoeing hate that Canoeing washer that holds the Canoeing diff spacer to the Canoeing ppf.
