Momo hub just arrived too. Just waiting on the QR. If that arrives maybe I'll get to fit them tomorrow. You can do the hub and wheel together then put the QR in between them afterwards. That is most of the work anyway. Pulling the old hub takes effort (do it with the existing steering wheel on but horn out.. and a soft-head mallet to shock it off), followed by lining up the new hub correctly. On the 17mm nut I suggest a little locktight and torque as per forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=89977

Started on the race car build. Stripped out most of the aircon and replaced the radiator with a new aluminium one. The main cage won't be done till next year after my wedding so will be tidying up and replacing the other bits this winter.

Sanded some orange side repeaters down to get rid of the clouding, yes it was as interesting as it sounds.

Finally got around to properly mounting and plumbing the supercharger throttle body. Process has been thus;
4 years ago... Use existing bodge to clamp to SC inlet <breaks> drill and thread to SC inlet <breaks> drill out, clever magnets, bolt to SC inlet <breaks> Give up and place bolts inside SC inlet <breaks> <destroys SC internals> <buy new SC> Weld round inlet to SC inlet, affix with silicone piping <breaks> Fix TB to bulkhead <rattles/whines> ..... leave 6 months
...Today! Make up proper bracket to fix TB to the back of the SC using existing bolts, plumb everything in using the minimum amount of metal piping with silicon joiners.
Fingers crossed.

Re: SC. Wow, that is some hassle you've been through! Ever thought about NA tuning instead?

I'm thinking of redoing my pipework to copy Aran's recent good work, which will mean changing my intake, would be good to see your solution!

Nothing to report on my five. Hopefully my QR will arrive tomorrow!
Although I spent the day tidying my Alfa up, ready to sell it: rubbing down two wheel rims and respraying them satin black to hide the kerbing. Plus rubbing down and spraying the front spoiler to remove stone damage. It looks 95% fine to me, so that'll do. It is good enough to not be noticed by normal (non OCD) people and that's all I need.

Its an advert for doing it right first time, but at each stage I thought I had it right. At this stage I think I have it right.... At least this way involves the least components possible and should in theory then be the least likely to fail. I am still considering turbo tbh! Ignore the tape on the bypass, I bought the wrong size reducer, that is to get me through tomorrow's autotesting and thats it.

Mattk, nice alloy rad! I know it will perform better but is it also lighter? Or does the extra capacity and presumably water content kill that aspect?
