Do you have any pics? I'm thinking of redoing my pipework to copy Aran's recent good work, which will mean changing my intake, would be good to see your solution! Its an advert for doing it right first time, but at each stage I thought I had it right. At this stage I think I have it right.... At least this way involves the least components possible and should in theory then be the least likely to fail. I am still considering turbo tbh! Ignore the tape on the bypass, I bought the wrong size reducer, that is to get me through tomorrow's autotesting and thats it. Nice job!

Started installing short throw shift + extension = normal throw setup. Work temporarily halted by torn lower boot and minging turret oil.

Attempted to change the oil pressure sender (thanks to whoever told me about fitting the earlier ones!), spent several hours swearing just to put it back together as it won't budge... Canoeing car.

Took the old steering wheel off. Previous owner was clearly a monkey. Spare wheel added to the classifieds.

Sat in the passenger seat as my learner driver daughter (6 lessons) took it out of the garage and parked it on the grass. She only went 25 feet but it felt like a road trip of mammoth proportions

Mattk, nice alloy rad! I know it will perform better but is it also lighter? Or does the extra capacity and presumably water content kill that aspect? Dry it's definitely lighter, i suspect with the larger core that'll be negated by the extra coolant required, but as this will be a racer and the old one was knackered, as long as it cools better I'll be happy.

I am a terrible passenger!

I am a terrible passenger! Why wait 17 years? Get said child enrolled in the Under 17s Car Club and they'll start about 10 or 11, then they'll be able to operate the machinery skillfully and with the correct mindset by the time they are 17. Then, when they start on the road, it's just learning the rules and gaining experience of situations - the physical operation of the vehicle should be in the subconscious by then, meaning a lot less to think about and therefore a quicker/easier learning experience

But I won't be in the car if they're in car club

After wasting yesterday getting no where with the oil pressure sender, thought I'd re-up the underseal on the frame rails before fitting my shiny sportdrive ones. Started to jack the car up and the Canoeing trolley jack broke, so another completely wasted day
