Just ordered a load of sound damping products in order to tackle rattles from the dash and doors: closed cell foam sheets, silent coat damping sheets, felt tape, door liner, roller, etc.
Once it's all here I'll remove the dash, doors, carpet, interior, then go to work.

Drove it back from Kent. With the top down, 60 miles on the motorway. Did almost a tank of fuel since converting the car to manual now, think it's safe to say, it works

Over the weekend some new brake lines went on, fixxed and flexi. Copper-Nickel alloy for the fixed and braided stainless for the flexi. A flare nut spanner is definitely worth getting if anyone else is doing this.

The fixed lines were from mx5heaven: www.mx5heaven.co.uk/product/copper-nickel-brake-pipe-set-mk1-new/You could probably get them made up cheaper, or DIY it but these save the hassle and the lengths were pretty spot on. The alloy stuff IS harder to work than plain copper but it doesn't work harden, so it can be reshaped a bit as you go. The braided lines are HEL, IIRC they're the cheapest set I could find with all stainless fasteners. Heard not great things about the sets with plated banjos/fittings.

What difference will those brake lines make over OEM?

Compared to new OEM? Not much if any. Compared to 20 year old crusty, perished, well past their best OEM. Firmer, more consistent pedal and longevity. Also shiny.
The braided lines should (in theory) offer less expansion under pressure compared to rubber so give a firmer, more consistent pedal. Although when you fit them you're also putting in new fluid, so a lot of the noticed improvement is down to that. Chances are that the original ones that are being replaced are past their best, so while I'm expecting an improvement alot of that will be just down to newness. Calipers aren't back on yet so can't comment.
The hardlines are only better than OEM in that they're not steel. The outboard unions on mine were pretty crusty and, rightly, were an MOT advisory.

Yesterday fitted a snail to my exhaust manifold that makes all sorts of stupid noises. Need a recirc valve me thinks.

Last night I did a skid and my clutch is now 98% canoed. Means the festive holiday will be used for clutch transplant, woohoo. At least it's a fairly easy job.

Did a droplink. I was going to do both but I had to go and borrow my mates air cutting wheel to get it off. The other side is the same but that one isn't so Canoeed so I'll do that another day.
On Saturday I'm going to be performing Major surgery on one of my sills (read - I'm going to cut it up and watch skuzzle weld it while I eat sausage).
Then I'll have to ride my pushbike to work for a week, then the following week I will be getting the rust box an MOT....
