Loved this car at the rolling road day, so following the thread closely! With the stock power you were making you should be shooting for at least 800bhp with a turbo surely!

I have an unused Flyin Miata down pipe here, but no idea if it's suitable? (is gorgeous tho)

Cheers lads! It did surprisingly well at Skuzzle so I think 800bhp is realistic... haha! The ducktail is an eBay job but I've already been slated by the Nutz forum as apparently it's a copy of a Vindi. I honestly couldn't care less, it looks great, fits lovely and didn't cost the earth. Here you go: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182458578636 Oooooh really Minty? What sort of money we talking? Could save me some hassle.

So since it's a week before payday, parts and updates are on hold until I'm not eating beans straight from the can.
As with all of us, this does not stop me fantasising about future upgrades and ideas and it's got me thinking about paint. I've always been undecided on whether I go classic and understated, refreshing the factory look but making it perhaps OEM+, or do I go full knobhead drift style? Well I've maybe had another thought/been inspired by something a little different which will allow me to retain classic styling but be outlandish enough to make my inner child's dreams of having a racecar a (sort of) reality.
Now it's not an original thought to mimic a race livery but I've not seen this particular colour-scheme on anything other than one other car, and no, it's not an MX5, nor is it even a Mazda but I'd like to keep the actual car to myself as to retain my semi-original idea but, what are people's thoughts on this?
It will be a tongue-in-cheek homage rather than a straight up copy. I always thought race colours on a non-race car were sh*te but in this case, when the turbo conversion is done, the little Mazda will actually have more power than it's racing inspiration, (that's my defense and I'm sticking to it).
Sorry for the wall of text, but I'm bored and haven't played with my car for a while...

More power than the original livery car? Hmmm, that reduces the field a lot, I'm tryin to guess what it is haha.

I've only recently seen it, and I think it might even be a one-off, I actually dunno. When it comes to power, think way back to when cars were not super powerful but were still pretty damn fast. I'm talking 70's style.

Couple of little bits this weekend, firstly getting the bumper off. What a absolute ballache! Well over-engineered! Then quick release... And really quick release... (my wing is knackered so need a new one)

Mini update, bought me some JASS hardtop brackets as the rattly, crappy, leaky, hateful, tedious, boring TWR roof is just awful and was shaking itself to pieces on even the most minor of bumps. I had found that using two sets of JASS side brackets works for these aftermarket roofs, and it was kinda right. Not all of the bolt holes line up so you have to get freaky with a file but it's no big deal. The results are that my roof is fully fixed on! No rattles, no leaks, much, MUCH less wind noise. I'm properly pleased! It makes such a difference to the whole experience, it's almost like being in a coupe! As you can see, the fronts don't line up perfect but I'll get creative and sort it another evening. It wasn't a totally 100% win however as my passenger's side roof latch won't come off, the bolts seems to just spin in situ, no matter, that one is the only good latch anyways.
