So anyways, yeah. I decided after that to do some archaeology on the car and figured I'd get some precision tools out to see what I'm dealing with.# So, without further adrool. I give you: The reason I'm returning the car back on Saturday and now on the lookout for another Roadster Yeah, it's pretty Canoeed. The deal was to patch the driver side, as that was the side that looked crap. The Passenger outer looks pretty good. Until you get underneath the car and start poking around. I already came to an agreement with my friend who I bought the car off that I'll be making my mind up over the weekend, and this has pretty much solidified my decision. A weekend's work has now pretty much turned into, well, a pretty major project for my standards. So. I'll roll around in the car for a week or so and then I'll be giving it back on Saturday and getting my cash back so I can find another Roadster. Even something else altogether maybe..? Idk. It's best for both parties, and makes life easier for the both of us. He's a very competent welder / mechanic (you should see the place he works at, jeez), but with time constraints, short-ish MOT, limited indoor facilities, the incoming storm, and my need for a car to use every day it's just not feasible. It'll also give him a chance to tackle the job properly, rather than rushing to fix it for me, and then he'll be able to sell it on for a decent price.

Shame, but lucky that you have the option to get rid of it and your money back. Fingers crossed for the next one!

Ooh, TR6?? Kudos to your friend for being a proper gentleman, rare these days. Yeah, he's a young'n as well! His family are old British car nuts so that's great. Him and his mates all drive old cars, they have a lil club called "Retro Four Bangers" - TR's, Mini's, etc etc. In other car related shenanigans I've been thrown a curveball - A pretty good one really. I've still been offered the N/S/R sill repair for free, and to keep the car at the price I paid already (I "owe" him £500 once the sill has been done, but that's been waived now). So I'll potentially have an MOT'able car that'll be good for another year or so and will give me time to further save, and make the car my own. Not to mention, the cost of the parts to buy the stuff all brand new is quite considerable - and finding coilies, roll bar, ARAB'S, droplinks etc second hand at a good price is kinda low. I still also have the option of throwing in the towel, and getting my money back. But if I look at it with the viewpoint of, £1500 for a load of parts and a shell that'll have an MOT'able rust repair. So, what would you do guys?

Hmm, I think in that case I would keep it, considering you only need it for a couple of years, espesh if you're thinking of heading back to upside-down land.
Do you get to see who's doing the work?

Glad to know you're keeping it. Bought a silver one and I'm still unsure about the colour, but I bought it as it was stupidly clean underneath with no rust or corrosion... Need inspiration although I've already taken care of the main things, especially as it's my daily.

Bought a silver one and I'm still unsure about the colour, but I bought it as it was stupidly clean underneath with no rust or corrosion I bought mine for exactly the same reason, and I also wasn't sure about silver (I wanted a blue one really). But it's really grown on me and now I genuinely prefer it to all the other colours. It's a bit more subtle than red or yellow but still looks really great when it's clean. Also doesn't show dust as easily as the darker colours.

Need inspiration although I've already taken care of the main things, especially as it's my daily. Silver's also my favourite tbh. I mainly always buy on condition, ironically enough, but the parts list on this car was too good to not have really. Inspiration-wise just do what you like I guess. I'm a bit of a JDM Parts whore so anything super rare, JDM and cool as, I'll try and swipe up ASAP. Contrasting colours (black / dark greay / carbon) I find work nice with the silver cars. Also, if that's your car, it's looking really good as is - Very OEM+ I likey. I'm having a lazy day indoors tonight so I'll do a post update when I get back in from work - Will be a fairly big'un
