Hi all,
Thought I'd start a thread somewhere about my newer Roadster. I owned my previous V-Special for 5 years, and only once did it let me down due to a thrown AUX belt. I really didn't want to get rid, absolutely loved the thing, but the paint had gotten so bad with clear coat peel I couldn't justify having it sprayed.
Whilst at Le Mans this year, my father and I had the usual drunken conversation about the state of my car and what to do. My plan was to always save up and get it done but had semi-jokingly said, 'well I'll just buy another'. 2 weeks later I picked the new one up. Lost £200 in 5 years on the old one, which a mate ended up buying and will be having sprayed.
Here's the old one; MeisterR Zeta S, Panasport Pro Rallye, de-cat, not a lot else.
The two together
So, the new one. Same recipe; '91 V-Special In BRG. This one though came with 1800 front brakes, braided lines , OEM lip, BR Watanabe, S/S manifold with ToyoSports cat back, Carbing 3 point front brace, Carbing boot brace, front and rear lower braces, front subframe brace, some interior bits and was resprayed around 3 years ago. The hardtop wasn't advertised in the ad, but got that thrown into the deal for £105.
First thing to change was the offset plate for a stick-on and reflectors changed back to OEM from clear, IMO clear never works too well with BRG. MeisterRs have also been transferred over, to replace the unknown lowering springs that the car came with.
Done so far;
MeisterR Zeta S
Replaced hardtop rear lower seal
Interior door pulls
New tyre valves
To do;
Install Raydyot mirror when they arrive, check visibility, eventually have them colour matched
Alignment
New discs and pads all round
Lose rear guards (would love to get rid of fronts too, but my last started to suffer a little from rust at front of sill)
Win lottery
Buy Genuine Watanabes & RPF1s
Supercharge / ITBs.
Cheers,
Rob.
