Going hall effect with a front cam sensor is clever and frankly superior. However keep a close close eye on the Maruha adjustables. The surface coating of mine wore out fast. Toda Adjustables are superior (lighter, don't appear to wear) but don't support running a hall effect sensor without some physical modification. What cambelt will you run ? Yeah - I have been warned about Maruha cam gears, but didn't want to modify a set of new Todas. I run Toda on my daily drive and they're not showing any signs of wear as yet. I have a Gates racing cambelt installed at the moment, so I'll leave that in place for now and keep an eye on things when I get the car running.

Chinese Diesel heater arrived this afternoon. Despite the royally Canoeed box, it arrived in one piece. I just need to buy a 'through hull' exhaust port and power supply and I'll get it all plumbed in.

I can always use the OEM gears as a standby if things look like they're going to get terminal.

Less than 100kms. :-( I reused my old gates blue belt, which may or may not have been a factor. with an open cam pulley area it should be readily apparent.

This arrived today. It came up cheap, and as I needed a housing for my 3.6 Torsen I thought I might as well grab it.

That's pretty poor! Let's see if mine do the same.

No progress on the car this week, but the garage is coming along. Next step - push the car over to this side of the garage so I can finish insulating the roof on the other side.
