Hi all.
Quick one. I have my na Eunos running on 15x8" wheels with 195 profile tyres (so a slight stretch in other words). I went this route to keep the rolling radius the same as standard. However, my ride quality is dire to say the least.
I also have 'Emotion Racing' coilovers, which have very stiff sitting rates. All bushes on the car are brand new OE items.
I have had it suggested that the stretch, and commensurate lack of sidewall compliance is a big factor in the ride quality. Is this more likely than the tragic coilovers?
I'm looking to get some decent shocks fitted soon, but was hoping to get away with not having the expense of wheels too (at least straight away)...
What do people think?

It's a part of the problem at least ... and with that stretch, the sidewall is leaning so you haven't kept the same rolling radius anyway! No need to change the wheels if you like them, just fit the right size tyres for the wheels. The shocks will make more of a difference though

It might be the tyre stretch, but I doubt it. What tyres are you running? Have you had your alignment done?

Cheers for the replies...
I'm running Yokohama AD08Rs at the moment in 195/50/15. I'm going to have the chance to throw on some 7'' wheels with the same tyre size, so the comparison should be interesting. Sadly that will still be with my 'Emotion Racing' coilovers, so not expecting it to solve everything!
I've had an alignment done, but it's probably too aggressive for everyday use. Very fast into corners, but constantly on the move when driving normally so I need to get that addressed as well.

In terms of chaging the wheels, I'll see how I go and how much difference to other wheel size make.
My current wheels are pretty new, but were only Japan Racing ones. They are quite heavy (though I like the design), so it wouldn't be the end of the world if I got changed them. But obviously I'd only do that if the difference was worth it.

I've got the enkei apache2s - 15x8 et25 .. the ride quality was fine with 195/50r15. that 50 profile is really forgiving. I suspect that my arches have had a slight pull at some point however. Not in my ownership though.

It's your suspension.

It's your suspension. Regards. Rich. I kind've hope so, just from a money perspective. Though I always planned on getting better wheels at some point, I don't need that right now.
So, who's interested in some used 'Emotion Racing' coilovers!? A total bargain!

On my old mk2.5 which I am positive had std arches, the fitment was bomba perfect. .. Sad to hear Enkei stopped the 4x100 version. Didn't see that many of these on mx5s or starlets

I bought them new about ohhh, 3 years ago now I think. I'm thinking a company called Rota? Here in the U.K. The owner/seller was an MX5 nut and very knowledgable about all thing wheels. Should be the case you'd hope, but sometimes we know more than the vendors!
So, possibly Rota Wheels, in the Midlands, probably. I'm not too good at keeping receipts. Can't see the point of that.
No spacers or other crap, just properly made very good quality and for their size, light wheels.
Regards. Rich.
