Just put money down on a 2554R kit that was too good a deal to miss out on. Can always go 2560R in the future if(when) chasing power.

So I've come away with the side latches to fit, will need to cut some of the plastic panel behind the seatbelt away to bolt them in, then will probably go up there and collect the roof with just the front and side latches done up, while I sort out some frankenstein bolts. If anyone has some spare ones knocking about and would be willing to send them to me, please send me a PM! Only took half an hour to fit the side latches. They are 'handed' so if anyone has them already in a Mk1 and can confirm whether the groove is towards the front or the rear of the car, that would be much appreciated. I fitted them the way they seemed to fit better, but they could have gone either way.
And Zed. did you find any Frankenstein bolts? No worries if not, I can order them

Polished and ceramic coated the front hood and boot lid of my blue car. Doing what I can to protect the paint.
Fairly certain I will now need to get the front bumper resprayed.

I fitted a new set of Magnecor plug leads. One of the old leads had broken inside and had been arcing for a while. They were off my first Eunos which means they were over 10 years old. Intermitant Hiccup gone.

For the last couple of days have been busy with the waxoil/ACF50/hammerite combo as I have the MOT on Friday. Also treated the car to a new set of wheel nuts as the current ones were looking a bit battered. The new ones were cheap off eBay & look of pretty dubious quality, pretty sure they’re made of monkey metal, shortly to be found in the bin I suspect.

I'd been 'watching' a set of Triumph Daytona 600 throttle bodies on eBay, hadn't pulled the trigger at £47 but then the seller made an offer, so they were down to £30 plus a fiver for shipping. How could I refuse?

Not heard of them before, was planning to 'do a bilbo' with a cut-down OEM intake.

Finally managed to collect the hardtop, third time lucky. Now I've got it home, I'll adjust it properly in the daylight sometime before next Friday's evening rally. Nice to have a glass rear window that I can see through, instead of the misty plastic window on my old soft top. Will probably take the soft top out altogether for the winter, to 'add lightness'
