Decision time: DIY hacksaw stock intake and silicone to mount the TBs, or £200 plus VAT plus shipping for Bogg Bros to make a custom manifold for them?

I did an autosolo yesterday, at Brands Hatch - one test around cones in the paddock, one test on the rally tarmac stage. Best two times out of three runs, and I went the wrong way twice on the paddock test in the morning, which effectively screwed the whole event (penalty time for WT was 240s, time to do it properly 80–90s) and I came 13th out of 16 in my class Was still good fun razzing around in the sunshine though I love that autosolo. That's the first I ever attended, a few years back. I got a few wrong=ways on the cones especially on the right-hand 'high section' in the rally stage. there's so little time to work out which way to go

Decision time: DIY hacksaw stock intake and silicone to mount the TBs, or £200 plus VAT plus shipping for Bogg Bros to make a custom manifold for them? standard manifold cut is a ghetto / El-cheapo means of fitting motorcycle itb's, it works but not ideal. I bet the Boggs Bro one will flow better ? Do you really want to make that mess at home ? fabricated manifolds are excellent IF designed properly and having the tb's spaced as the cylinderheads ports to maximise flow (as opposed to manifold runners angled to meet the tb's spacing ) Dogleg bends are the antichrist and you may aswell hacksaw a Mazda manifold there are other options like Jenvey cast aluminium manifolds but these would need adaptors to fit motorcycle tb's (& then you'd need individual tb's not siameese'd pairs) Rich.

Using the stock fuel rail and injectors is an advantage though, no? I bet the Boggs Bro one will flow better ? Played around with some thin shims on my tensioner pulley in an attempt to get it to keep the belt in the right spot.
I've got it putting the belt 'too close to the engine' as opposed to 'up against the belt guide'. Just need to tweek it around to find the sweet spot.
I've got a new tensioner on the way.

I put it in a ditch. Properly 20 feet down in a ditch. Locked up on a rally last night and went straight on, over the edge. Went back this morning with some friends and a winch and dragged it out, and drove it home! Will need new fans and a new front bumper, not sure about the radiator. Gives me another reason to delete the aircon system. Just a pain that it's 2 weeks until the MOT is due!
