It was really frustrating!
So wouldn't come off, so started hitting it with hammers. Then went to get lube. My Plusgas lost it's "gas" and wouldn't squirt from the can. And the wd was the same. Then started looking on youtube vids and my "4G" wouldn't stream a damn video without buffering every second. So i gave up lol

10-4 rubberduck Yes, I fitted a CB radio. A few of us are going to Wales next weekend, we had the little pmr radios on our mega European trip three years ago and they worked well. Fancied something different this time. Just got to swr (whaaaa??) it next week, which is a good excuse for a BBQ as we've all gotta do our radios.

I love those ghetto make your own tools. It's been a while since I've done one but I've still got my pipe on a funnel for filling up the diff and transmission... and various grinded off spanners for when I've unfortunately had to help fix wrong wheel drive cars.
That pump idea might be just what I need, sd Jayne's auto shifts a bit jerky and I think it probably needs a fluid change - however there's no drain plug and you have to take the oil pan off (messy), sucking it up through the dipstick might be easier..

I still have a lovely ground-down set of a 12-17mm spanners from a some serious work I undertook on my s13 10 years ago. god I hated working on that car. ^^
I've done an oil change before with one of those PELA things. not bad. but you could just use a small electric fluid pump and any hose with a strong wall such as windscreen washer hose, it'd be quicker and cheaper.

I have changed the oil on my auto box, not really that much effort. Just get some new gaskets and filter. Open the bolts all around the box, if you've changed an exhaust, you can do the autobox oil change!

Yeah, I know it's easy enough and I have access to lifts and an oil drain.. thing. But I'm pretty slapdash and will probably drop it all on the floor, which I'll then have to clean up. You should see the state of my car after I did my crank and cam seals the other weak, oily finger marks everywhere...
How do you go about filling it up again, it's through the dipstick isn't it?

Yeeah, i had a fair amount of oil on the floor after. Caught most of it! And yup, fill up via dipstick

gave my white one a full gearbox turret service. rigged up a lovely little sucktion pump by reusing a soap dispenser head and some old hose.. Did my upper boot and oil (lower was still in one piece after a whole year!) whilst I painted the shifter, wish I thought of the soap dispenser idea! With the door cards and upper boot done and the gear lever painted, I put it all back in to see how it looks/feels. Still need to cut the blank for the tombstone and replace the masking tape on the carpet, but I'm pretty happy with how it looks

Serviced the blue one's turret today (notice a pattern?) turret was mostly empty of oil. Which would explain the gearbox whirring noises I could hear - no oil.. no damping ? seems to be gone now.
Then I fitted some NRG pedal covers because I hate the grippyness of the rubber ones. Bad move. Going to try a set of ILM ones instead.

Bought myself a Dymo label maker, soley for the purpose of making some retro switch labels. . . because race car Took my headlight units out and put some electrical wire between them and the bezels holding them in, which has cured the annoying squeaking and rattling that I've been suffering for months. Ronin is now blissful to drive with just the sound of the supercharger winding up competing with the throaty sound of the Cobalt exhaust. No squeaks. No creaks. No rattles.

Proper raised letters labels.

Not today but yesterday. Drove it down to Brooklands museum for the event they had one.
Almost home and tried to pop my headlights up to let somebody out. Lights didn't pop up! I think I did something to the flash to pass mod resistor when i failed to get my steering wheel off last weekend
