Found out how thirsty a s/c 5 can be when triple driven at a track-day! Having said that a great day at Combe yesterday despite it being mega slippy first thing (tank slappers down the pit straight not recommended!!). Dried out in the afternoon so some fast laps possible. Spoilt by seeing how fast a well driven Mk3 BBR can be.... Cheers, Pewe

I've never been on a track day. I'd love to next year, once I'm fully used to my new car and I've ironed out the bugs (car and myself). I think an MX5 only track day would be a good idea. I'd also like to get a bit of training to polish me up a bit. Or a lot

We went on a Motorsport Events day - well organised, properly marshalled and no cowboys. When you do go on one I thoroughly recommend paying for tuition- normally c.£25-30 for half an hour We all think we can drive fast until a professional sits next to you pointing out how to take a faster/smoother/more anaylitical approach to your driving. Do it soon you won't regret it. Cheers, Pewe.

Being fast in a Trackday is the be all and end all, having fun is the key. The only time I get frustrated in a standard 5 is when it's mday with lots of really fast stuff and you spend the whole day looking in your mirrors to make sure you're not ruining someone else's day. To be fair though a well peddled 5 can punch well above its weight. Agreed on all of the above, I believe by the afternoon we were pedalling it round within 9/10ths of its pace. At that pace on previous track days we would have been overtaking others. Winter plans are still a small power upgrade and N2-SR's or RSR's for next year's campaign

Today i r removed a lot of stuff from the car while trying to find why it wont start
Currently found 1 of my coils has died so getting a replacement brought to me this evening
Then hopefully that can solve why the car stops the pulses to the injector the moment it starts to fire

If I remember correctly, 4 pin coils produce rpm signal to ECU and if this circuit goes canoe up in a coil, the car will crank, catch and then immediately die.

^^^^ Oh yes! I've the same pic saved in my mx5 folder, to remind me how awesome these are. Did you go for the low offset version as in the photo?

Hi Moro, I went for the 14x7 Et19 versions. In silver. To be honest i'd like them painting gunmetal but it would be rude to send some fresh wheel's straight for refurb? Gold was a no no and the black were more expensive. Just have to figure out what tyres to fit to them now. I was going for the 185/60/14 rainexpert 3's on my panasports but these are 1.5" wider so not sure what to do? I don't want any stretch at all I love the look of chunky tyres. They have cost me more than what I paid for the car, This is the point of no return
