No it isn't. Put on a rubber glove then you can grip it properly. Just wait till you put it back on when it's oily mmmm slippery i did think of this but i decided to get annoyed at it instead all done now first time i;ve used 5w40 so could be fun Engine gonna blow up. Sorry. |

Was pretty sure my timing was out as the car has had not a lot of power down low compared to my other ones, that and I guessed someone had bodged the timing because half the covers were missing and bolts were missing. ..  Whipped everything off and yes, 1 tooth out on the inlet side.. so sorted that and wow it's like having a new car again. Also put my sticker on.  Busy couple of hours. |

Had fun with coilovers. Adjusted the ride height up by another centimetre which improved things.. Started bedding in the paddle clutch... and saw just how proud the willwood dynalite callipers are..

Went from this:  To this:  Head is bolted on, exhaust mani is bolted up, inlet is bolted up, bodies and rocker cover are mocked up for effect. Very happy with it so far. |

Did a couple of maintenance jobs on my 5 today, nothing as exciting as above tho...
Removed the decat pipe the previous owner put on, and refitted the cat he gave me. No real loss of power but much less noise, exactly why I did it.
Also turned off the eml that was on because of the cat.
And then blew out the NS washer jet with the airline as it was blocked.

This morning we went to see the midwife. Yep, we've had the 'sensible car' discussion... This afternoon, the other half went for tea with the ladies so I got my car recovered after the rad burst last week.  Got cracking right away, and had the rad out in a couple of hours with no jacking or front bumper removal. Whoop.  Since I don't have the rad yet, thought I'd do something else. Bride time! But first, seatbelt removal for massive weight savings.  Finally got the seat in as the sun went down. What a ballache side mounts are...  Productive day for me! |
