These paint issues, this is crazy!! Have you said anything to them, or just leaving it as you're sorting it?

But the guy who fixed the rust, doesn't look like he's in business anymore, he was talking about jacking it in when I first dropped it off. Probably a good thing, now I don't need to write a scathing review.

Whilst I wait for the paint to harden, I thought I'd fit the GV front lip from BOFI. Only took a couple hours, went pretty smoothly, decided on nut and bolt fixtures rather than the screws supplied. So if I hit anything it'll probably take the bumper with it. IMG_20210607_204943 by Scott Reid, on Flickr If it ages poorly I'll take it off and paint it with some stone chip/bed liner, like my old R-Package lip had on it. IMG_20210607_210940 by Scott Reid, on Flickr Whilst I was there fitted the offset Eunos sticker I've had kicking about a while, this is the same bronze as the side stripes that are going on. I've cracked my r-package lip and it scrapes a fair bit, no way I'd get away with that. It looks so good though!

Love the front lip, made me smile about how it'll take the bumper with it if it comes off

Spent some time yesterday fitting the bronze side stripes, took roughly two hours, did a better job this time around of finishing the edges at panel gaps, so there's a positive. PSX_20210620_183104 by Scott Reid, on Flickr I'll get some better pictures of it not sat in the garage, they look a lot darker in certain light.

Finally managed to get to another auto-solo event, the last one being pre-covid, goal was to not get lost/spin out and try get some times on the board. Pre event spent some time fitting my Cappuccino washer bottle I got off Zed. . Might need to trim the pipework slightly but made a harness so I didn't need to cut any loom. IMG_20210625_183257 by Scott Reid, on Flickr Cracking day, once we finally got into site, slight issues with site access meant we had to do some slight off road expedition to get in over some sand dunes, fine on the way in, but splitter was a casualty on the way out, ripping three bolts out, cable tied and fixed when I got home, I didn't get beached or stuck though, I think it was the torsen diff. Screenshot_20210628_133233 by Scott Reid, on Flickr Raft of mx5's out, but also a couple of interesting entries, this Seat Mii got fastest time of the day (with 80bhp): Click for video VID_20210627_155516 by Scott Reid, on Flickr An Exocet that I sold my old bucket seats to was out for a shakedown: IMG_20210627_113657 by Scott Reid, on Flickr Also the guy that bought my old R-package splitter was out with his mk1 import with HKS turbo kit, fitted in Japan before import: IMG_20210627_144654 by Scott Reid, on Flickr We ran the same course Counter clockwise (4 runs, 2 best times), then clockwise (3 runs), accumulation of all times being your end result. I tried stiffening the front and running a softer rear on the coilovers (unlike last time I tried stiffer rear, after only overhearing half of what someone else was doing). This gives you a good overview of the course, this is layout two, I think my first attempt: Click for video HwVideoEditor_2021_06_27_220559294 by Scott Reid, on Flickr Couple of in-car: First Course final run Click for video Run3_Course 1 by Scott Reid, on Flickr Second course, second run: Click for video Run2_Course 2 by Scott Reid, on Flickr If you look really closely you can see how my sunburn is progressing Tried to do most of the course in 1st this time round, last time out I thought I bogged down too much in second, but in hindsight this was a faster flowing course so maybe should have gone into second far earlier. First Course: 69.6, 66.5, 66.5, 64.9 (fastest in class was a 63.9) Second Course: 64.4, 62.9, 62.6 (fastest in class was a 60.2) The Seat Mii dipped into the 59's. Pretty happy with that for a second attempt, came out 7th overall and 6th in class. I was getting faster each run so I'm happy in that regard. I think if I spend some time looking at videos of everyone on the day I'll be able to improve/see where I could pick up some time, I'd also love a hydro handbrake and a smaller steering wheel. Got a couple parts to fit, but next task is to service the M62, I'll save that for another update. I think I'm going to go look for a trackday at Knockhill!

Sounds like fun - video links say they're private but you certainly had nicer weather than we did on Sunday!

Me and a mate took a little round trip at the weekend from Glasgow up to Kinlochleven, going up past Loch Lomond, through Glencoe via A82. Found a nice stretch between Glencoe and Kinlochleven on the B863 if anyone is ever up that direction. Car ran without issue (no new issues at least), managed most of it top down until the torrential downpour on the way back south. All in all pretty happy with how it's running just now, trying to sort as much off the car for the ECU/supercharger, so I don't need to take it off the road for what's left of summer. Did spend some time prepping the gauge pods I got from Russell (Vindi), not really worked with fiberglass before, just need to prime and paint them now, then I can start cutting up the spare crash pad for the dash. IMG_20210704_223450 by Scott Reid, on Flickr Also spent some time servicing the M62, replacing the rear needle bearings, fitting a new oil seal in the snout, I've bought some Loctite 518 to seal it and fresh oil. So that'll be done next. Then I can fit/shim the pulley into position. I think I'm going to run the wideband, a boost gauge and a temp gauge in the 3 gauge pods, I've got a volt gauge as well but 3 gauges seems enough without going too over the top.
