Winter is approaching so the car will go back in the garage after the brief time out of it. Yesterday was a beautiful day and I got some time behind the wheel of it, running low boost, street tires and without aero on narrow roads in the woods. Quite nice.

Just renamed the thread since well, the car has been named the Toyster ever since it got a turbo almost 10 years ago.
And I keep sidetracking with other things that may or may not end up in here.

Car is working but is not being driven yet du to still being below freezing during the nights. And I accidentally bought another cx500e I don't have time for this.

any cx500 turbo's near you? Rich. I've never seen one in the flesh. That said, both of mine are mot'd (equivalent) forever and tax free. So if I ever... But mostly I want them to be slow, cool looking bikes eventually.

Love the CX500. Classic bike.

At the time the CX was a real departure from the norm, great piece of engineering.

Oh the frustration. The stator is dead on the new cx. Bought as working, but I guess it wasn't.
Lets add 500 pounds to the motorbike costs then 😑

Lower supports are coming. And the saddle is a cheap thing for test fitting. But the angles are decided. Leaning towards not using clipons and will probably use the oem bar instead, on the pc06 its lika a 30mm rise drag bar. That will save me moving the tank rearwards, but the jurys still out.

Took it out for some 70 miles of hooning about on small forest roads.
It's still mad on high boost. I dont mind that I have the option, but it really needs wide r-comps. My poor 205 wide street tyres cannot cope with it at all. On street rubber, it is actually better with only ~240whp on the low boost setting.

Hey Niklas, I’m investigating fitting a plate diff on my Turbo NB. There seems to be a few options- refreshed Fuji/Kaaz/3J. Any feedback please? I do sprints & hillclimbs currently with a Torsen (that someone told me he wants if I take it out).

I use the 3j reinforced one, no experience with kaaz etc so the only things I can compare it to is the torsen2 and fuji.
First, it is noisy turning at low speed, initially a lot but it settled to some slight clunking. At speed, you cant hear it. I installed it myself with the oem pinion (so didn't have to touch that).
The car is a bit more understeery since the lock on the diff is more aggressive than the torsen. This is not a problem since that is a result of better push out of corners.
Due to crotchgoblins I havent driven it a lot on track, but the little I have made me quite happy since the low/medium speed corner inner wheel spin (due to unloading, i run a rear arb) is completely gone.
My diff is set to 50-60lbs and 40/90 ramp angle.
