Ooooh where did you get that LED flare? Very cool! That was from Tegiwa! Although i bought it via their eBay shop, very cool indeed and only 13 quid!

Got some more bits done on the car, with the calipers now looking very fresh after being painted red, this made the brakes, especially the discs, look pretty tired. There was still a bit of meat left, but they would have been done in a few months latest so used this as the man maths excuse to just buy now and make it look pretty. Thanks again to MX5 Parts, these landed recently; I bought all new wheel nuts as well as the others were looking a bit rusty after only just over a year, not ideal but at only £1.80 ish each from Driftworks, it's not a bank breaker to just buy new and get another 'key' for the same price; ... and done and all fitted; Quick photo after the test drive; For the relatively low cost of £40-45 ish, I now have the I.L. Motorsport front lower chassis brace bar fitted as well as I had to take the upper strut brace off as it was in the way of fitting the Blitz induction kit, I don't expect amazing things but should make a little bit of difference. The photo still showing evidence of previous oil leaks; .... and finally another unnecessary purchase, but why not!

Had a box arrive today from MX5Parts and thought what's that!? I'd forgotten i'd ordered a replacement jack handle on back order at the end of November - hardly the most exciting update in the world but i only mention this as for £11.98 delivered, makes such an improvement in the boot. I was going to try and spray my old battered one black but what's the point for such little money for a brand new one in a 'genuine parts' Mazda bag!

those unpainted jack handles are much quicker to use, too, since there's less friction, somehow

For anyone that is missing the factory 'vehicle information sticker' that is usually placed in the driver's door shut, I noticed Autolink are now offering reproductions for sale and with my car's one being missing and/or lost over the years, this caught my eye! I went through the sections on the website to provide my car's details and it arrived a few days later - pleased is an understatement, it looks absolutely spot on and like it was never missing in the first place. Recommended if you need one!

This is a bargain on Amazon at the moment if anyone is thinking of a dash cam, £25 on offer and the 32GB card was only another fiver - great quality picture and easy to use, I just bought it to have on sometimes if I drive anywhere interesting.... one day we might be able to do such things again! Anyway, it's so small i have it behind the rear view mirror and can't even see it!

So today i've done one of those little OCD type jobs (but also satisfying ) Got the cheap eBay de-bobbler out (usually for clothes) and ran it over the seats. Both seats are in pretty good shape for the age but the driver's side needed doing a bit more than the passenger's side, no surprise there! Not bad considering I didn't think they really needed doing at first! .... and end result, not a massive difference but enough to make the job worth doing!

Yesterday saw some good jobs done on the car, standard bank holiday weekend however, was raining off and on whilst it was being done and we got soaked, dried off... and soaked again. However, BIG thanks to my good friend for doing this all for me - it's amazing how us talking earlier in the week about re-attaching my under tray at the back under the engine (as it had come away and was hanging down too low and catching on the floor) resulted in a transmission refresh Anyway, I decided I wanted to get the gearbox oil changed as i've done pretty much every other serviceable item available on this car now and this was still to do, an unexpected result was that when I phoned MX5 Parts on Thursday their 10% off for the bank holiday weekend had just started. Nice! So ordered 2 litres of Mobil 75W-90 Fully Synthetic gear oil, genuine Mazda upper and lower shift boots, the nylon cup for the gear lever and a drain plug washer, all to be delivered Friday so we could do the job Yesterday. Order arrived, ONE litre of gear oil. GREAT! So pretty hacked off I called up Euro Car Parts who had some different 75W-90 gear oil on the shelf which I went and grabbed so that we could still do the job; I also bought one of these bottles as saw on a YouTube video how easy it made re-filling the gearbox oil - was worth every penny of not a lot of money! Anyway, was expecting the gearbox oil to be pretty rough so was pleasantly surprised when what came out looked pretty new, must have been done by the previous owner; Turret oil however was as beautiful as you'd expect (the syringes made easy work of getting the old stuff out); I only had one very small hole in the existing upper shift boot which again was a nice result when you see the state of some. But glad to change it anyway! So that was job done, to finish, have a big wheel selfie taken when on a random drive recently

Haha yes in KM... luckily... would be a more worrying total for the engine if that was miles! Thanks for that, despite not doing any bodywork on it yet though (trying to avoid), the car is day and night difference now to when I bought it
