People will throw stuff at me for saying this but I'm running EBC yellow stuffs (Wilwoods up front, standard 1.6 rears) and I really like them.

I bought pads from Rodders which are just dandy. Good from cold, great once hot, and not too dusty.

Good man paul. Cracking pads at an unbelievable price. We use them on both race cars.. Although the mk2 needs to go bigger unfortunately... But that's in a different league.

Yellows great for fast road.. had them round Europe a few years back, epic on the passes once they were warmed up, but a bit of a bugger (read: pretty rubbish) when cold! If I were to go on a big Europe trip again, I'd still fit them in a heartbeat.
Now though, I just use the cheap OEM spec ones from autolink. Fine for daily driving and they last long enough.

I haven't tried EBC Yellows on the MX5 but had them on my New Mini and they were very good for the price on track and on fast road.
I really liked the Rodders pads, very good value for money, but I think Carbotech XP8s are better, but then you would hope so for the price!

Cool - that's what I did from other recommendations, but it seems to vary. In answer to the actual question, Rodders special secret sauce front pads and yellow stuff rears at the moment.
