TL;DR – I rolled one of my front arches last night. My 55 profile tyres have been rubbing on the front arches when I go over big bumps, which is a bit annoying, so I need to roll them. I bought the cheapest arch roller tool off eBay (£20 delivered) and put it together last week, but when I went to use it on Monday it didn't fit under the arch! Needed to hack off an inch or so from the main tube, and a bit off the inner extendable bit, and undo the bottom bolt of the coilover strut so I could push the hub down, but eventually I got it in there and rolled one side. Need to do the other side tonight, and hope that I've done it enough... Did the passenger side last night. Still a struggle to get the roller underneath but I got there in the end, with a lot of sweat and grunting
Also fitted my luggage rack onto the boot. I'm doing a classic road trial with the MCC in a week or so and I'm planning to leave the space-saver spare at home and carry two full size wheels on the rack, with ratchet straps to hold them on. Think it will be a bit of a squeeze so might end up with one in the boot and one on the rack, but we're also camping for a night before the start so need to cram a lot in somewhere!

I was tempted to diy this on mine, I'm replacing the front arches in the future (I have unpainted new ones in the garage) so might have a crack on the ones that are on. Not sure I fancy doing the rear though as I'd be worried about Canoeing up the paint that I had done a couple of years back so not sure how worth it is me buying a decent roller, especially given I'd probably need a shorter/specific one anyway. Might just end up paying someone in all honesty, I have a guy in mind who comes well recommended at least.

Hi Folks, I went for a last drive in the Stock Rs to deliver it to the new owner. I came home on the train. Don't worry I still have the ITB Rs in the garage so I am not giving up.
Cheers Dickie

I tried to get the brake caliper adjuster out again on my offside rear wheel, but it won't budge. I got the nearside one out with no trouble, and ironically my replacement one came in the post today, having been delayed from Autolink.
It has a 4mm allen key hole which I think is a bit rounded off, I don't really want to put too much heat into the area and I haven't got a small/strong enough magnet to get inside the hole in the caliper to try to grab it that way. So does anyone have any suggestions on how to get it out?

I just want to add, the nights are hot and humid at Finca 4x100. Or cold and humid (wet). It's really dependant on the weather.

Yup, that did the trick, thanks. Used the new adjuster, it tightened up, so the handbrake seemed a lot better. Put 2 wheels on my luggage rack and went out to find the steepest hill around....still not holding it very well. Might be doing heel and toe for the restarts at the weekend!

I'm about 40% into a front seals replacement job on the blue turbo. http://instagr.am/p/CQeSItIHMd5 http://instagr.am/p/CQd-YEjnWri The good news is that the cam belt pulley literally slid off without a fuss (always a very good sign) and the keyway is in _perfect_ condition. And my engine looks more or less like new around the cams I had a go at the crank seal with my seal picks but coming out she is not. Yikes. But the hot tip I have.. is this..

Do you ever get the “Gota fria” that we enjoyed in Valencia? What is it ? I've never had it. Local delicacies hereabouts (that I know of) are spiny urchins (seasonal), prawns and anchovies, we get a special kind of paella rice too (arros de pals), and fried aubergine chips with cane molasses (we're still not sure if it is a desert or a savoury but we really like it and always end up ordering another portion).

It is a weather phenomenon, measured in cubic metres of rain per hour. Absolutely unbelievable if you get caught in one, once when driving, it stopped the traffic on the A7, couldn’t see, the noise was incredible. murciatoday.com/what-is-a-gota-fr%C3%ADa_120607-a.htmlYou may be too far north.

Just had confirmation through about the auto-solo on Friday, been doing a bit of reading on where I went wrong last time.
Hopefully do better this time!
