non-destructively patched the g4x for a knock signal. will test this tomorrow. I’ve got to do something similar on my ME221 to get the EBC to work..🤨

Continued with my relentless search for another 5…. stupid as it sounds but........ waddyalookinfor? Rich. Torn between another MK1, in at least as good condition body wise as the one I stoooopidly sold, or a MK3 2.0. MK1 prices are ridiculous and MK3’s are equally prone to rust. Paid 1k for my previous 92 V Special.. cannot believe how much some people think their rust buckets are worth. I am becoming addicted to reading MOT histories…

I’ve wired it up like you said & no boost control. A little more research & the very early black PCB me221s need a couple of terminals soldering.

XD Ha! 😬 Fortunately I’ve got a manual boost controller which works but compared to one run off the ECU, it’s rubbish. My friend Harry on here has exactly the same set up but with EBC & has +40 lbft torque.

Took the G4X'd turbo smurf out for her first drive. Other than the Acceleration Enrichment being disabled (so a bit juddery at low RPM when I'm trying to speed up..) it's pretty much flawless.
I'm getting knock data from the knock sensor now. Next week I'll be replacing the loom for that with a properly shielded one when that arrives..
Fueling tweaks are easily done, very similar to the Kpro/Kmanager setup. Arguably better even than the Kpro setup.

Now on the 4th iteration of the map. Did some WOT with wastegate pressure boost. No det yet detected. I need to revisit my high MAP AFR targets I think but other than that.. yay.

been out doing some pulls to test boost control and fueling in the higher pressure regions.
such a smooth AFR curve - there's no curve at all really... it's practically flat!
the high res logging is ace and I can see the ECT goes from 92 at the start to 97 at the end (I should probably run thicker oil 5w40 ?) and then peaks later at 99 as the heated coolant works its way to the sensor, then comes down again quickly. this could be sensor ground but I can test that by dropping revs sooner at the end of runs.
I'm thoroughly impressed by the G4X - it's a really fast ECU. As the boost starts there is no beat skipped in fueling, typically an ecu is a little slow to catch up and you get a tiny harmless lean spike at the start. I'm not even running acceleration enrichment .. the curve is perfect without deformation... like I said, really fast ECU.
