Funny how things go round in circles ... currently looking at suspension again! Guessing the short list is ... Xida, AST, Ohlins, maybe Fox ... not sure what else there is else there that's top end for primarily track and some fast road use Russell You should definitely buy some Ohlins. I'm calling dibs now

Infinitely better Russell? I've found nothing wrong with the rear travel of the current DFVs, have you driven them? If not, you're welcome to have a go in mine next time I'm up your way (I still have a batchelor bar on hold for you....) I didn't realise you had them, I had a set of the newer ones (road & track?) and was on the bump stops a lot at a sensible ride height, couldn't get them as low as I wanted with enough travel so ended up selling them on. The PCV have about 35mm more travel, although I understand changing the top mounts can sort most of that? I'd be interested to see what you have, although I think I'll end up on Xida Sorry I'd forgotten about the bar ... I'll try to sort something over the holidays if you're about agreed on that but Ohlins are rebuildable and can also be re-valved / upgraded for sensible money (will be having my set serviced in the future) am watching this in case theres a wonder-damper available for less than the gdp of a mid-African republic Rich. Sadly mine were too heavily customised already. I was having them rebuilt but they said some of the internals were custom so they could only really service them, or replace quite a lot of parts which would have got expensive, so I decided to start again with something new Russell

i can't remember where it was recommended now - I think a thread on suspension for 5s on Pistonheads forum - but this chap seems to be someone who can custom build to personal taste, and gets new stuff but rebuilds it to make sure the QC is top notch. www.igracing.co.uk/dampers.htmlCould be worth a look?? I've wanted to ring him for a while but I hate wasting people's time when I'm months away from buying anything.

On board camera of the suspension from a fellow competitor at a recent Finmere Autosolo. I think Liam was running Rainsport 3's, but I could be wrong. I saw him switch fronts and rear tyres, at the previous event, in between two runs

Wow, that tyre deflection is crazy, it looks like the width and sidewall profile is wayyy to big for the size rim but its probably not and more to do with the massive sidewalls (rainsports come up bigger than others too!). What size tyre/wheel combo is that?

I was thinking tyre pressure also. You can expect some deflection but is... what we saw normal ?

Just use whatever Howard is using. He’s a champion winning driver.
That’ll do for me.

I just drive on the edge of what’s in the car at the time 😁 Having said that, if you really want to know, BC DS 12kgF/7kgR, Whiteline front ARB, STD rear & am fastidious about geo.
